This month, it started really well and I was looking at having one of my best month for this year, unfortunately the dreaded Google Penguin update. I have to admit I felt terrible for a long time, all I could think was all the effort and work I have put into my business for the last 18 months, was simply wiped out overnight.

What a devasting week it has been, this is probably one of my lowest point in my entire career as an Online Marketer. The latest update of Google’s search algorthimn, called the Penguin Update has literally killed 61% of my trafffic to my main website. For the first time in 7 years it did not survive a Google update. From a revenue perspective it is devastating, I can barely keep my head above water now.

Well it is nearly end of the month, I really should get cracking with writing about what has happening. Income appears to have stabled, however in writing this Google seems to have done it again with another update. Should I quit now?

2011 Review and 2012 Goals
What a great year 2011 was! I am very excited and thrilled to be able to share this with you on my new blog. Looking back on the year, I have had some great wins and also missed some targets but overall, I am quite pleased on my progress and excited for the year ahead.

2011 was quite an overwhelming year, it was my first year working for myself after spending over a decade working in the corporate world.
I was entering into unexplored territories and in many ways excited and scared.
This year was really a year of learnings.

“How I Make a Living Online” is probably one of the most asked questions I get from friends and family. The easiest way to explain this is I make a living as an internet marketer.
As an internet marketer I earn money through building niche websites, writing/selling ebooks and email marketing.
I work with companies like Google and Amazon which offer advertising and affiliate programs that allows me to make money through my various websites.
The way it works is quite simple, everytime someone clicks on an advertising or buy something through one of my websites I earn a commission.
At the end of each month, my total commission is calculated and I receive a cheque or direct deposit from each of the companies that I am affiliated with.
